— OSPREY’S BAYVIEW PARK
Your Invited!

When: Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:30pm
Where: Osprey’s Bayview Park, on the bay at the end of Sarasota Crew Way. More details on location and access below.
What: Osprey’s largest bayfront county park is open, but unknown and undeveloped. Come discover this hidden gem, and share your ideas on what you think this 1.2 acres on Little Sarasota Bay should become.
The Friends of Osprey’s Bayfront Parks will be at the park on Saturday, June 28 from 3 – 5:30 pm. We will have information on the park’s recent history. We will share ideas on potential future development. Most importantly, we will capture your ideas on what you think this great neighborhood park should look like in the future. These ideas will be shared with Sarasota County Parks as we urge them to commence a more formal park planning and development effort.
What’s currently at the park: The park has no facilities, but it is mowed, has nice shade trees, some bay views, and is easy to stroll around. There is no drinking water, rest rooms, benches, or picnic tables (yet!). Bring your water bottle, a cooler, a lawn chair if you want to relax and ponder this site for a while. Or just stop by for a peek!
How to get there: To reach the park, just follow “Sarasota Crew Way” west from U.S. 41 to the park gate next to the rowing club’s large white bayside tent. You will find the start of Sarasota Crew Way in Osprey on southbound US-41 just south of Bay Street, Evie’s on the Bay, and the Charming Shark. Access to the park is over a county-owned public access easement purchased from Sarasota Crew specifically to provide public access to this park.
We encourage people to come on foot, scooter, or bike! For those needing to drive, you are welcome to drive on Sarasota Crew Way to the park gate and drop off passengers, lawn chairs, a cooler, etc. However, the county’s access easement does not provide for vehicle parking, and the two paved parking lots up by US-41 are not for public use. For this event you may park at Evie’s on the Bay near US-41 and then take the short walk over.
Come meet your park! Bring a friend. The Friends of Osprey’s Bayfront Parks hopes to see you there!
